Sobre Budapeste.

Budapeste é a capital e maior cidade da Hungria com 2 milhões de habitantes. A cidade é dividida em duas partes separadas pelo Rio Danúbio: a parte de Buda com as suas colinas cheias de história e a parte plana de Peste mais movimentada. Eram duas cidades distintas mas fundiram-se em Budapeste em 1873. Nesta cidade que já desempenhou papéis relevantes na história europeia é rica em monumentos e arquitectura.

Começando por Buda, a Colina do Castelo é um lugar magnífico para caminhar pelas ruas medievais e apreciar o panorama de todo o lado de Peste, o rio e a Colina Gellért. No topo da colina fica o imponente Palácio Real, construído no século XIV e reconstruído em estilo barroco 400 anos mais tarde. Foi a residência dos reis húngaros durante 700 anos. Actualmente alberga os melhores museus da Hungria e a Biblioteca Nacional. Bem perto do Palácio fica a Igreja Matthias, com 700 anos, onde os reis eram coroados. Uma grande atracção turística é o chamado Bastião dos Pescadores, um miradouro monumental onde se tem a melhor vista da cidade, com o rio e Peste aos nossos pés, incluindo a magnífica visão do Parlamento neo-gótico e a famosa Ponte Széchenyi ("Chain Bridge").
A colina Gellért é uma reserva da natureza no meio da cidade. Aqui fica a Cidadela e 3 dos famosos hotéis-spa de Budapeste.
A famosa Ponte Széchenyi liga Buda a Peste e é um dos principais símbolos da cidade. Já deste lado de Peste, é obrigatória a visita à principal rua pedestre Váci utca com as suas lojas elegantes, cafés e restaurantes. A Basílica de St. István (São Estevão) é a maior igreja de Budapeste, construída em estilo neo-renascentista. O Museu Nacional é o melhor monumento da arquitectura húngara clássica. O antigo bairro judeu Erzsébet deve ser explorado a pé. Aqui fica a maior sinagoga da Europa com lugar para 3000 pessoas. O Parlamento da Hungria é talvez o mais famoso edifício da cidade, no seu estilo sumptuoso neo-gótico de grande dimensão. Caminhando pelo Andrássy Boulevard encontra-se lindas mansões dos séculos XIX e XX e também a Ópera de Budapeste.
O Parque da Cidade contem a monumental Praça dos Heróis.

Lago Balaton é também chamado o Mar da Hungria (já que o país não tem qualquer mar). É um lago com 80 km de comprimento na região central da Hungria (a 100 kms de Budapeste) e por isso um dos seus principais tesouros e a principal estância de férias do país. Na margem norte do lago ficam as estâncias de Balatonfüred e Tihany, esta última cidade fica numa península de origem vulcânica que entra pelo lago. Tem uma igreja distinta que vista à distância se enquadra com perfeição na paisagem do lago.

Budapest is the capital and largest city of Hungary with two million in habitants. The city is divided into two parts separated by the Danube River: The part of the Buda with its rolling hills filled with history and the flat Pest busiest. It was two different cities but merged in Budapest in 1873. In this city that has played important roles in European history is rich in monuments and architecture. 


Beginning with the Buddha, the Castle Hill is a wonderful place to walk the medieval streets and enjoy the panorama of all the Pest side of the river and Gellért Hill. Atop the hill is the imposing Royal Palace, built in the fourteenth century and rebuilt in Baroque style 400 years later. It was the residence of Hungarian kings for 700 years. Today it houses the best museums in Hungary and the National Library. Close to the Palace is the Matthias Church, 700 years old where kings were crowned. A major attraction is called the Fishermen's Bastion, where a lookout monumental has the best view of the city with the river and Pest on our feet, including the magnificent view of the neo-Gothic Parliament and the famous Széchenyi Bridge (Chain Bridge " ). 
The Gellért hill is a nature reserve in the middle of town. Here is the Citadel and three of the famous spa hotels in Budapest. 
The famous Széchenyi Bridge connecting the Buda and Pest is one of the main symbols of the city. Already this side of Pest, you must visit the main pedestrian street Váci utca with its fashionable shops, cafes and restaurants. The Basilica of St. István (St. Stephen) is the largest church in Budapest, built in neo-Renaissance. The National Museum is the best monument of Hungarian classical architecture. The former Jewish district Erzsébet should be explored on foot. Here is the largest synagogue in Europe with seating for 3,000 people. The Hungarian Parliament is perhaps the most famous building in the city, in its sumptuous neo-Gothic style large. Walking along the Andrássy Boulevard is beautiful mansions of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and also the Budapest Opera. 
The City Park contains the monumental Heroes' Square. 


Lake Balaton is also called the Sea of Hungary (since the country has no sea). It is a lake with 80 km in length in central Hungary (Budapest 100 km) and therefore one of its main treasures and the main holiday resort of the country. On the north bank of the lake are the resorts of Balatonfüred and Tihany, the latter city lies on a peninsula of volcanic origin that enters the lake. Church has a distinct view that distance fits neatly into the landscape of the lake.
